Regional Winners of the Natural Lifestyle 2014 Award!

Thanks to the wonderful support of our great customers we were nominated for an industry award, and won Regional Finalist. We are very excited by this, and would like to extend a big thank you to all of you who nominated us – such wonderful things were written, we were very touched. We also received a visit from one of the judges of the award.

The award also includes a visit to the Alfred Vogel Bioforce herbal remedies farm in Teufen, Switzerland to see how their herbs are grown and prepared into medical tinctures, ointments and tablets.

Here is the write up from the Natural Lifestyle Magazine‘s November issue:

”The year of 2014 is special for The Mulberry Bush as it marks 40 years since Josie and Brian Smith first opened the doors in the Welsh town of Lampeter.
Today, it is a wonderful family business where you can pick up everything you need for a healthy lifestyle, whether supplements, natural bodycare, or enjoying the veggie food in the lovely café upstairs.
The couple’s daughter Stella now manages the business, supported by her husband, Andrew, but with Josie and Brian still involved, and they all share the same ethos.
There is also a healthy salad bar, daily specials, smoothies with locally produced superfoods, and fresh juices. In the café, the walls are adorned with the work of local artists, with an exhibition held there which changes every six weeks. It also hosts musical evenings. nl’

This year we were also a finalist in the national Best Retailer for Natural & Organic Products 2014 Award.

IMG_1666IMG_1701It has been an exciting 40th year for Mulberry Bush Wholefoods. We have been putting in lots of extra effort, with some special events throughout the year, street parties, food festivals, health talks and lots of tasting events. We even managed to give away around 300 goody bags to many of our lucky customers (sorry if you missed out on that).

IMG_1697The goody bags were packed with generous donations from many of the producers of the stuff we sell in our store. There’s also been a lot of sampling going on too. It was really nice to be able to give something back to the people who have supported us all these years.
