Throughout December 2022 we are hosting the detailed works of Melanie Ainsbury. This will be our 2nd showing of Melanie’s work, but this is her first full exhibition with us.
Many moons ago Mel ran a tattoo parlour on Lampeter’s Harford Square. People would travel the length and breadth of the country to be adorned with her delicate artwork, and rightly so, she has a keen eye and skillful hand. Most of her displayed works are monochromatic, indicative of the medium she has worked in for many years.
Her works consist largely of pencil drawings (some enhanced by multi-colour Biro), and there are also paintings too. Her subjects are wide-ranging; landscape, portraiture, studies of trees displaying anthropomorphic postures, and surreal dreamscape wanderings…
