Cassie has produced many fine print works for us in monochrome &amp; colour on the themes of &#8216;Birds and Beaches&#8217;. The images evoke a very airy feel and the print quality is perfection.<\/p>\n<p>In Cassie&#8217;s own words:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>Printmaking is essentially the transfer of ink or other medium from a block or plate onto paper or other material. The reverse image is incised or built onto a block, often wood, lino, metal or acrylic sheet, and inked up using a variety of techniques.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Some processes produce an image that can be repeated several times before the block is worn out, other processes produce a unique image that cannot be repeated. Many of my prints combine both of these elements so a woodcut or linocut may be used with a mono print and chine collie producing different results from the same block.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>It is lovely to have Cassie&#8217;s work up here for the first time. Historically Cassie helped to run the art&#8217;s &amp; crafts shop Celtic Edge which was located in what is now the cafe, so it is a home from home for her.
