A little more about the band:-

Deuair yw Elsa Davies a Ceri Owen-Jones: ffidl, telyn a dau lais.

Mae’r gair ‘Deuair’ yn hen ffurf barddonol (‘cywydd deuair byrion‘).

Mae Deuair yn chwarae i ddawnsio a gwrando. Mae eu bwriad nhw yn dysgu a dehongli caneuon prin lleol a storiau o’u cyfeillion cerddorol a’u ymchwil nhw gyda hen lawysgrifau.

Mae Ceri ac Elsa yn chwarae i ddawnswyr (cyfoes a thradoddiadol) a thwmpathau, mwynhau a dathlu cerddoriaeth cymdeithasol a diwylliant Cymreig.

Deuair is Elsa Davies and Ceri Owen-Jones: fiddle, harp & two voices.

Deuair means literally ‘two words’, and is an old Welsh poetic form and measure.

Deuair play music for listening and dancing. Their intent is to learn and interpret rare local songs and stories from fellow musicians and old manuscripts.

Ceri and Elsa play for dancers (contemporary and traditional), and twmpathe (social dances) celebrating Welsh music, culture and community.
